Clinton, Iowa (August 28, 2019 - United Way of Clinton County, Iowa Planning $650,000 Campaign Rich Klahn, Assistant Vice President with Clinton National Bank, and Julie Witt, Office Service Manager with ACI, will lead this fall’s United Way campaign to raise $650,000. “The United Way campaign is where it all starts,” said Klahn. “We can’t help people who need help if the necessary funds aren’t available. I was born and raised in Clinton County and I care deeply about the people here. We step up in times of need.” Click here to read more.

Accidental drug overdose is currently the leading cause of injury-related death in the United States for people between the ages of 35-54 and the second leading cause of injury-related death for young people. Guest Editorial June 2019 - Kenneth Brooks/Mesquakie District, Illowa Council Scouts –  JUMPING FEET FIRST INTO ADVENTURE WITH UNITED WAY OF CLINTON COUNTY, IOWA With Summer now upon us, many of us think back fondly on our summer escapades. We counted down the days until school let out for Summer Break, and we planned how we would spend our entire summer with our friends. Images of tree forts, lemonade stands, backyard camping, swimming pools, and sleepovers come to mind, but the crowning pinnacle of summer was always going to Scout Camp. Guest Editorial May 2019 - Matthew Parbs/The Sawmill Museum – UNITED WAY OF CLINTON COUNTY, IOWA SUPPORTS EDUCATION PROGRAMMING AND MORE AT THE SAWMILL MUSEUM When you think of a museum, I doubt a couch comes to mind. Now, there was a Museum of Laziness, but hopefully to no surprise of its workers, it closed within a week. While The Sawmill Museum has its mission of preserving Clinton’s lumber history, for decades, museums have adopted a mission of being a social space for their community. Ultimately, the goal is to be the community’s “couch”, or the community’s “living room”, or their “attic”. Whatever your preferred section of the house is, the goal is to remove the veneer that infinity goes up on trial at a museum, and show that museums are here for everyone in the community. Clinton, Iowa (April 30, 2019) – WE APPRECIATE THE SUPPORT FOR OUR FLOWERS JUST BECAUSE Dear Editor: The Staff and I at United Way of Clinton County, Iowa would like to thank to community for participating in our Flowers Just Because fundraiser on April 24, 2019. We were able to distribute just over 400 bouquets of spring flowers in two hours!  We could not have done so without our fantastic volunteer drivers!  Without these volunteers, this would not be possible. Clinton, Iowa (April 24, 2019) - UNITED WAY SUPPORTS EDUCATION THROUGH MEN-TORING READS PROGRAM: “April showers bring May flowers”, or so the saying goes.  This April, local schools had books falling in their hands.  As a seed is planted, a garden can grow. Education is one of three impacts areas the United Way of Clinton County, Iowa focuses on within our community. Guest Editorial April 2019 - Amanda Willimack/Imagination Library of Clinton County – UNITED WAY OF CLINTON COUNTY, IOWA ASSISTS DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY OF CLINTON COUNTY PROMOTE LITERACY, SCHOOL READINESS The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends reading to children from birth. A large body of research has shown children exposed to books at a young age have stronger vocabulary, literacy, attention spans and concentration, and they are better prepared for school. Clinton, Iowa (March 29, 2019) – UNITED WAY BEGINS FLOWERS JUST BECAUSE FUNDRAISER: The United Way of Clinton County, Iowa is raising funds to be able to distribute them to the agencies they partner with through the Citizen Review Committee and Board Member volunteers process.  Orders are being taken through Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 4am.  Delivery of flowers will be on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 11am - 1pm.
