United Way of Clinton County, Iowa (UWCCI) continues to work with and support local assistance agencies to make sure individuals and families receive the help they need due to the Derecho disaster and COVID-19 pandemic.

There is a new financial incentive for Americans to give generously to qualifying charities, including United Way of Clinton County, Iowa and many of our community partners. The measure grants taxpayers an above-the-line deduction for up to $300 in charitable donations given in 2020. For example, if you take the standard deduction and give $300 to charity, you will get a $300 tax break in addition to the standard deduction.

United Way of Clinton County, Iowa (UWCCI) has completed reviewing 29 local agency applications for annual grant funding, which takes several months. Twenty-one community volunteers serve on the Citizen Review Committee to assess agency programs and make funding recommendations to the UWCCI Board of Trustees.

United Way of Clinton County, Iowa (UWCCI) and funded partner agencies supporting basic needs are hard at work helping individuals and families through the effects of Covid-19. For those families still affected by the COVID-19 crisis, a variety of options are still available to get help with rent, utilities, food and other basic needs. 

Clinton Middle School students exceeded their $16,500 goal, raising $17,250 to donate to the United Way of Clinton County, Iowa (UWCCI). Teacher Eric Slocum, a lead organizer behind the annual fundraisers, says, “I’m really proud of our amazing students and staff here at Clinton Middle School. We are all willing to do what it takes to support this great cause!”
