United Way Supporting Agencies for Derecho Recovery

United Way of Clinton County, Iowa (UWCCI) continues to work with and support local assistance agencies to make sure individuals and families receive the help they need due to the Derecho disaster and COVID-19 pandemic.

Any residents who find themselves in need of urgent basic needs assistance can call Information, Referral, and Assistance Services for support at 563-243-5818.

CARES Act Tax Breaks for Charitable Donations

There is a new financial incentive for Americans to give generously to qualifying charities, including United Way of Clinton County, Iowa and many of our community partners. The measure grants taxpayers an above-the-line deduction for up to $300 in charitable donations given in 2020. For example, if you take the standard deduction and give $300 to charity, you will get a $300 tax break in addition to the standard deduction.

Clinton Middle School ‘Coins for Clinton’ Raises $17,250 for UWCCI

Clinton Middle School students exceeded their $16,500 goal, raising $17,250 to donate to the United Way of Clinton County, Iowa (UWCCI). Teacher Eric Slocum, a lead organizer behind the annual fundraisers, says, “I’m really proud of our amazing students and staff here at Clinton Middle School. We are all willing to do what it takes to support this great cause!”
