United Way of Clinton County, Iowa (UWCCI) continues to work with and support local assistance agencies to make sure individuals and families receive the help they need due to the Derecho disaster and COVID-19 pandemic.
Any residents who find themselves in need of urgent basic needs assistance can call Information, Referral, and Assistance Services for support at 563-243-5818.
There is a new financial incentive for Americans to give generously to qualifying charities, including United Way of Clinton County, Iowa and many of our community partners. The measure grants taxpayers an above-the-line deduction for up to $300 in charitable donations given in 2020. For example, if you take the standard deduction and give $300 to charity, you will get a $300 tax break in addition to the standard deduction.
United Way of Clinton County, Iowa (UWCCI) has completed reviewing 29 local agency applications for annual grant funding, which takes several months. Twenty-one community volunteers serve on the Citizen Review Committee to assess agency programs and make funding recommendations to the UWCCI Board of Trustees.

For those families still affected by the COVID-19 crisis, a variety of options are still available to get help with rent, utilities, food and other basic needs.
